Pravets Historical Museum completed the implementation of a project under the Interreg Program - Cross-Border Cooperation - IPA Bulgaria - Serbia 2014-2020

   Pravets Historical Museum , together with the Municipality of Surdulitsa, the Republic of Serbia has successfully completed the implementation of a winning project under the Interreg Program - Cross-Border Cooperation - IPA Bulgaria-Serbia 2014-2020 "Development of Tourism in the Cross-Border Region of Bulgaria and Serbia by Creating Tourist Attractions and exhibition of representative cultural and historical sites of the municipalities of Surdulitsa and Pravets "with reference number СВ007.1.11.151.

   Surdulitsa Municipality is the Leading Partner. The project is of an inventory character and the implementation deadline is 22 November 2018. Through this project activities are being carried out for the construction of tourist attractions – an urban park of public importance in the town of Surdulitsa and measures for conservation, restoration and exposure of three cultural and historical monuments in the municipality of Pravets - two museum sites in Vidrare village (Old class school and 19th century inn with expositions) and an archaeological site with remains of an old monastery and a church from the 14th century in the village of Osikovitsa. The main goal - better presentation of the natural and cultural-historical heritage of the two municipalities in a competitive and attractive way has been achieved and three monuments in the Pravets municipality and one natural site in the municipality of Surdulitsa have been renovated.

   The realization of sustainable tourism through the restoration, preservation, socialization and presentation of the urban park in Surdulitsa as a tourist attraction, the exhibition of the two museum sites in Vidrare village-Old class school and Tunyakovski inn and the archaeological site in the village of Osikovitsa - ,, St. Virgin Mary church of 14-th c. is a good basis for implementing follow-up and upgrading investments, which stimulates the multiplier effect of the project. This will raise interest in the Pravets municipality and Pravets Historical Museum, not only in the region and the country but also abroad.
